Update 6: January 22, 2024
From the Desk of the Chairman of the Search Committee.
Good Morning Pine Drive Baptist Church,
This is an important update on our search for God’s man for Pine Drive. First, I want to thank you for your prayers and your commitment to this process.
As you know we had narrowed our search down to one man that we were pursuing. As it turns out, he was not the man God intended for Pine Drive. We have released him from consideration and have begun the long process of searching through resumes to begin the process again.
Please know that we will continue to search for God’s man, and we will not give up until God reveals him to us.
Please continue to pray for us and for the man that God has appointed to be our next senior pastor.
Update 5: October 30, 2023
From the Desk of the Chairman.
Dear Church,
The search committee has reached a very critical point in our search for the next lead pastor for Pine Drive. On Tuesday the 31st of Oct we will convene to reduce the number of resumes we have received to the top 5 candidates.
This step is significant in leading to the man whom we will pursue, so unity and consensus within the committee is paramount. Please pray that the holy spirit leads and that we earnestly follow.
With this step behind us we will be only weeks away from identifying God’s man for Pine Drive. It’s a very exciting time in the life of Pine Drive Baptist Church.

Update 4: September 26, 2023
From the Chairman,
Dear Church Family,
The pastor search committee is nearing the end of the resume receipt phase of our search. That will officially end on the 30th of September. We will begin at that time the process of elimination as we go through each and every resume that we receive very carefully. This will be the most difficult part of the entire process and we ask for you prayers.
Our hope is to have eliminated all but about 5 of the candidates by mid-October and to narrow the field even further by the end of October and to begin focusing in on the one man that we will pursue.
Please check back often for updates on our progress and please continue to pray for your search committee members by name: Robert Kerr, Bill Golasinski, Mark Pricer, Heather Turner, Sandy Henry, Ellen Trantham, Fred Purswell.

Update 3: August 21, 2023

From the Desk of the Chairman
Hello Pine Drive, this is a short message to bring you up to speed on the activities of your pastor search committee.
First, I want to let you know how much we appreciate your prayers and support. This is a very demanding undertaking, and we are committed to finding God’s man for Pine Drive Baptist Church.
As a committee we have completed all the preliminary work necessary to prepare to receive resumes from candidates. We identified four job boards to which to post our senior pastor job summary, and as of 21 Aug we have completed the posting and have begun to receive resumes.
We will continue to receive resumes for 40 days from today at which point we will begin the process of reviewing and deciding which of the initial batch of submissions we will be considering further.
This is a long and laborious process, so please continue to pray for the team and for whoever God has for Pine Drive.

Update 2: July 25, 2023

From the Chairman:
Hello Pine Drive family. Your search committee continues to earnestly seek the man God has to lead Pine Drive Baptist Church. We urge you as a church family to continue to pray for that man and for his family. Also, we as a team, committed to God’s purposes, ask for your daily prayer as well. Please pray specifically that we as a team, remain unified in our effort to find that specific man that God has called to Pine Drive.
In the days ahead the Pine Drive membership will be contacted by specific members of the search team. This will be done in groups; it could be during a Sunday school class or at another specified time and place. The search team will be asking a series of open-ended questions concerning the characteristics of our new pastor. Our hope is to develop a clearer understanding of what you as a church expect in your senior pastor. This additional information will go a long way to help inform our search as we endeavor to do what you have called us to.
Once we have established a working profile for the new pastor, we will move into the resume phase of our search. We have a long way yet to go, but know that we are committed to the process and will follow God wherever he leads.

Update 1: July 10, 2023

From the Chairman:
Hello Pine Drive family! As you are all aware we have begun the search for a new lead pastor. Your search team is united in purpose and prayerfully working through the process to identify and bring God’s man to Pine Drive Baptist Church.
This short note is provided to help you understand where we are and what we have accomplished to this point. We met for the first time, as a team, just over two weeks ago where we elected a search committee chairman and secretary and established some ground rules for the conduct of committee business and scheduled search team training with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. We successfully completed that training last Thursday, 6 July.
We are currently working on several required documents (church, community and pastor profiles) in preparation for posting the position of lead pastor job boards for public response. While we are not yet ready to make the position public, we are making good progress to that end.
Most importantly, I wanted to assure you all that we are following a tried-and-true process that was developed by the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and has seen many, many years of success in helping churches all over Texas find God’s man. We on the search committee covet your prayers, and we ask that you pray for us daily. We are committed to this process and to what God has for Pine Drive in the future. I speak for the entire team when I say we are grateful for your support and your commitment to pray for us during this very important process.
